Our Story

Another Fly Story began the way most great adventures do — with a passion that simply couldn't be contained. Founded by Mr. Henry Lau, one of Singapore's most respected veteran fly fishermen, our little shop on North Bridge Road is more than a tackle store. It's a gathering place for anglers, a classroom for beginners, and a launchpad for unforgettable expeditions around the world.

Henry has spent decades chasing fish across some of the most remote and breathtaking waters on the planet — from the crystal flats of Raja Ampat to the wild rivers of Mongolia, the legendary atolls of Cocos Keeling Islands, and the jungle streams of India in pursuit of the mighty Golden Mahseer. Every rod on our shelves, every fly in our bins, and every piece of advice we offer is shaped by that hard-won, hands-on experience.

Henry Lau — The Man Behind the Cast

Henry's love affair with fly fishing started long before it was fashionable in Singapore. Over the years, he has honed his craft across freshwater and saltwater environments, mastering techniques that range from delicate dry fly presentations to powerful saltwater streamer fishing. He has guided fellow anglers, mentored beginners, and built a reputation as someone who fishes not just for the catch — but for the connection with nature, the challenge of the pursuit, and the stories that come with it.

When Henry isn't on the water, he's in the shop — ready to talk flies, rods, reels, and destinations with anyone who walks through the door. His philosophy is simple: fly fishing should be accessible, joyful, and shared. That belief is the heartbeat of Another Fly Story.

Our Mission

At Another Fly Story, we exist to grow the fly fishing community in Singapore and Southeast Asia. We believe that fly fishing is one of the most rewarding pursuits a person can take up — and we want to make it easier, more exciting, and more meaningful for everyone, whether you're picking up a rod for the first time or planning your tenth international expedition.
